In the museum's Riverboat Exhibit is a scaled model of the "Carrie B. Schwing". She was one of the most well known riverboats in Iberville Parish. Old photographs of riverboats that have steamed up and down the rivers and bayous of Iberville Parish are also on display.

In this, Louisiana's bicentennial year, UL Press releases MAIN STREETS OF LOUISIANA and LOUISIANA HIGHWAY ONE. "Main Streets" celebrates some of the state's most historic and picturesque downtown areas and "Highway One" takes travelers 436 miles from Grand Isle to the Ark-La-Tex border. Author Anne Butler and photographer Henry Cancienne will be on hand for a lecture/presentation and book signing. Anne's "Plantation Country Cookbooks" will also be available.

Plaquemine Lock SHS is proud to present Hardeman Tradition, a father and son duo have been performing together for over 13 years. Frank and Kevin Hardeman will sing all of your Pop, R&B, Soul and Swamp Pop favorites. This free concert will be held in front of the lockhouse. For more infomation give the Lock a call.

Inspired by three decades of state and local celebrations, Flag Day - the anniversary of the Flag Resolution of 1777 - was officially established by the Proclamation of President Woodrow Wilson on May 30th, 1916. While Flag Day was celebrated in various communities for years after Wilson's proclamation, it was not until August 3rd, 1949, that President Truman signed an Act of Congress designating June 14th of each year as National Flag Day.

Every Friday during the month of July, "The Lock Master" will be on site at the Lock SHS giving tours and presentations.

"The Red Velvet Cake War" follows the outrageous antics of three cousins as they prepare for a Family Reunion in Sweetgum, TX.
